Keyboard will only type 3 characters

The keyboard on my laptop will only type three characters and then stop. I can't backspace I can't even type in my PIN to get in. The mouse is working fine and there doesn't seem to be any problems with the screen. HELP!

To troubleshoot the situation you should try an external keyboard to see if the issue persists.

Actually after further investigation I found out that only some letters are won't appear on the screen and others will.
