Hello,

So this happened when I tried to rate my system through Start>Right Click Computer>Properties>System Rating is Not Available. It took long so I cancelled it. Since then, explorer.exe seems to be not working properly

•Desktop Icons particularly Libraries, Homegroup, User, Computer, Network and Control Panel doesn't appear. Other Shortcuts works fine
•Taskbar and Start Menu Can't save any shortcuts. I tried to manually put shortcuts but nothing happens
•When right clicking>New, there will be no options. Just "(Empty)"
•When openning an unknown extention file, checking the "Always use the selected program to open this file" doesnt do anything.

These are the problems I detected for now. There might be more.

My system is running on windows 7 ultimate. Restoring would mean deleting all the programs and drivers so if possible, I don't want to rely on it.

Try to restore your system to an earlier date before the issue occurred. You will not lose any data.

Yeah. I have a backup from that time. although It will restore to the time before I formatted the Hard disk. So, if there would be any other way...

If you really tried the recovery disk, you should get a repair option.

Tried downloading this > XXXX/operating-system/windows-7-all-in-one-iso-download.html] and made my USB a bootable device. Then it said that it was not compatible so I downloaded this one > XXXX/operating-system/windows-7-ultimate-full-version-free-download-iso-32-64-bit.html] and did the same process. It was able to go to the windows repair screen, But it was doing the same thing as the windows repair installed in the disk. Btw my OS is windows 7 ultimate.
