My compaq presario cq40 won't trun On

Hi i am using compaq presario CQ40 for last 8 years. I explaining my problem, when i power button press it shows power light one time for 2s after that i pressed power button second time is shows off. Even i tried without battery and with battery it shows same problem and also no light is ON.

OK, so you have taken the battery out, and disconnected the charger from the wall, and pulled apart the converter part on the charger, so the Power cord is two separate parts? Then held down the power button for 60 seconds?
