Samsung TV won't stay on screen fit

I am currently using a samsung tv for a monitor for my pc, xbox and switch. The issue I have is that in some games important parts of the screen are cut off. I can fix this by going into my picture settings/picture options/size and then selecting screen fit (by default it is 16:9). The thing is that after a while the tv will reset itself back to 16:9 no matter what I'm doing. Is there a way to get it to lock to the screen fit setting or maybe another setting I can tweak to fix the issue.
