Automatic windows 8 updates computer turns off

The computer did an automatic update and seemed to work ok. When I started it up again I got a black screen. I finally was able to try to restore and did this 3 times to different points

The last restore attempt appeared it was going to work because it let me go to the login screen but after I typed that in instead of logging in it went to the black screen

Now I can not get it to stay on to try something else it turns on to the black screen and immediately goes off

I have no software disk as it was all loaded when I bought the computer. I have no recovery disk


Is there hope for this computer now?
