Contacts on Android do not synchronize with Outlook anymore (Exchange)

Dear CCM-Community,

I've had a hotmail-email address for many years and since approx. 1y new added contacts get deleted after some days. And when I look online, they are not saved on outlook.com - so they do not synchronize anymore.
What could be a reason for this?

Hi Sophie

This is just an educated guess but I believe that Hotmail allows only a limited number of contacts.
