Log into Gmail with Windows Live Mail

Hello,
This question is out there at least a 100 times and I think I have tried 50 of them. No success!
I changed my gMail password, because I received a bunch of security alerts from Microsoft. From that moment I have not been able to login to gMail using WLM (Windows Live Mail). Microsoft no longer supports it so they will not assist me.

Can anyone give a straight forward (hopefully step-by-step) instructions on how to get gMail to allow login from my WLM account.

It will be most appreciated I can assure you.
