How can I connect the PC to internet if I have a router?

I just installed again Windows XP and I tried to acces the internet but I could not.
I tried accesing the router page to configure it but it says acces denied.What can I do?

XP is seriously flawed, and you won't connect to a any type of reputable server!

Hi, I have the same problem. I installed Window XP and put the wire in the lan card my modem shows up green light but the LAN connection is showing cross sign. I swipe the wire, is any solutions to this problem.
