DVD Rom issues

Hello,

Whenever I insert any DVD or CD disc into my PC, it reads it and sometimes works normally. Sometimes, it loads slowly and even hangs when I try to access files in it. It, often, does not the disc. I noticed, whenever it spins fast and loudly, access files faster. But, it gradually dies down then processes like copying a folder become very slow. What should I do?

Any help is appreciated!

Are you certain that the media is DVD or CD, and not BLUERAY? A lot of software uses BLUERAY now for the compression and size limitations! I would guess, it fails on BLUERAY disks, and works for others. Check your media and post back!

Hi everyone
i seriously need help!
i love the sims 2, its the best :)
so I bought the sims 2 deluxe CD.. I installed it, no problem there, but then there were options lke this;
Read-Me
Launch Game (or something along the lines of that)
Quit

so I wanted to play it right? so I clicked LAUNCH. then the logo with the SIMS 2 came up.
then an Error window came up;
Please Insert Correct CD-ROM, select OK, and restart application.
I DID insert the correct CD-ROM. after the installation it said please insert CD 1 to play game.
i did. then that error message came up. so I am REALLY confused because I know that it is...

my computer can not show me the CD/DVD ROM please help me. since i install windows 8.1 and been removed from my computer. How can i view it or restore it back, i am using a windows 8.1

downloaded the freedom fighters game and the file for installation is at local disk d, after finish installing , when i want open the program, the error "Please Insert the Correct CD-ROM" come. what can i do be able to open the game ?
