Hello, my NEC laptop won't turn on. The power button lights up but the NEC screen isn't showing up. This has been going on for a few weeks every time the laptop is not plugged in... Pls help... My school files are extremely important...

Most likely your battery is dead and you need to open up the bottom and replace it with a correct one.
You are able to use your laptop when it is plugged-in, it is a great indicator that the charger adapter is not the issue.
