Hi,
The F8 key is no longer enabled on Windows 8 and Windows 10. To start in Safe mode, you've to repeatedly turn your PC on and off. The steps are explained in detail on this page.
You can reset your password by clicking "Reset password" on the login screen. With Windows 10 1809 and beyond, it is possible to answer your security questions to log back in.

HelpiOS is right,the F8 key is no longer enabled on Windows 8 and Windows 10,the locked computer can not unlocked with it.
To reset the password for lenovo laptop,the password reset disk and some password recovery tools are the first choice.
