Sata hard drives

Hello,
Just installed a new wd320 SATA hard drive to replace a wd160g sata hard drive in a dell dimension e520 running windows xp home.
I am trying to take my pics off the old corrupt hd but am unsure as to how to.
If I have the old hd recogized in the setup, the machine wont boot.
How can I boot the computer w/the new HD but be able to access the old hd to transfer the pics,
if they are still retrievable.

hi there,

you need to set your first hard drive as master,

and second drive that is the 160gb on ne to slave or computer select

and once logged in windows

go to my computer and browse the drive
