Moving to new phone but want to preserve whatsapp on old pho

Hello,

I am moving to a new phone, and do not want the phenomenal amount of "whatsapp" conversations to come with me to the new phone but on the other hand want to be able to access them on my old phone when needed.

I basically want to use my old phone as a "Whatsapp archive"

How can I make sure that when starting to use "my whatsapp nr" on my new phone, whatsapp won't log out on the old phone and hence I will no longer be able to access old messages ?
