P4 and core 2 duo

Hello,
i wanna change my motherboard but not my p4 3.06 Ghz processor . i want asus motherboard with latest specifications it also should have slot so i can use my old processor and if in future i switch to core 2 duo or other latest processor it should be compatible too.
I have to change my motherboard coz it does'nt support ddr2 ram
Please help me out what for which series i should go.

it is better that when you are going to buy the motherboard, bring the processor with you.
and show the people what kind of processor it is. then they will suggest you proper motherboard.
