Very Slow transfer from ext drive to D drive

Hello,
Since formatting my D drive, i have a problem with transferring my music from eternal drive to D drive, i does transfer ok but sometimes when playing on winamp it sounds as though it needs winding up, also my D Drive in disk management is showing as Disk 0 can anyone help at all, i am no expert though just a user
