Acer infared keyboard wont work

Hello,
i have a acer e700 and cant get my keyboard to work the remote works but not keyboard

Hye there,

If the keyboard isn't working just change the battery to new one!

Then it will definitely work

thats the first thing i did.

the computer recignises the keyboard and infared reciever which lets you us the remote but not the keyboard i check the drivers and they say device is working properly.
