no audio device installed Closed

Question

Hello,
getting "no audio device installed" on my compaq laptop with vista. i had it fixed for about a day through "recovery manager" and it went out again today. i tried to fix it the same way i did before, about three times and it won't work this time. any suggestions would be helpful.

Are you trying to get sound out of your speakers?
Are you adding a mic?
Are you setting up headphones?
ETC?
