Lost files after a recovery was preformed

Hello,

My Laptop would not power up, turned it off started it up again, it said something about it has to restore from last restore point. it did not work so it said it would look for an earlier restore point that would work, so it restored from the factory restore and i lost everything not bothered about programs but lost all the photos that i just moved from my old pc. i did not take a backup of pics( yip you guessed it i was doing the back up this weekend) anyone got any ides how i can get my files back
