You might.. i can't say yes or no. But really RAM relates to how fast things load. RAM (also called memory) has a speed attached to it. So if you computer can use a faster memory than it is using. It will work more faster. However the increase might not be noticeable. If you really want to improve your FPS. The Video Card and CPU are the most important things.
Now speaking from direct experience. I"ve always had 1 GB of RAM. Until recently when I acquired a half gig stick and put it in. And I have noticed that my overall experience is better with 1.5 GB. So, I think you would enjoy having 2 GB, but I wouldn't expect it to increase your FPS.
If your poor and can't afford anything really. Then you could try to overclock your CPU, Videocard and see if you like the results. That would increase your FPS. However I can't say by how much. All the overclocks I've done have only resulted in a few more FPS. So considering the risk in it. I can't really say it's worth it. Some hardware overclocks very well and other's not so well.
Last Point: If you have a great CPU you can skimp on your video card; however if you have a less than great CPU.. then you have to have a great video card to get great rates.
