SOUND PROBLEM

Hello,
Am steven a citizen of uganda,i bought an old with all its hardware for compaq company and i tried to intall window 98 designed in 2000 and all other software,it had to work but saddenly lost sound,i have tried to look for sound drivers but all in vain,all keyboard mouth,moniter and system unit are all of compaq.inside it has got a socket 8 proccessorand EDO as ram.can you please help me,
