I have a dell Inspiron 1300 laptop. my cd drive quit working about 6 months ago, However the DVD drive still works. The cd and dvd drives are one in the same, but my computer will only play dvd's. When I put a cd into the drive it spins and sounds like it will play but don't. I go onto my computer and it shows the cd drive icon for a sec then goes back to the dvd drive icon.I've checked in device manager nothing appears to be missing. I have used windows help and support option, and checked the statis of the drive , but it says this devise is working properly only it dosen't work at all. Also I have checked in one more location and that result told me there is a block missing whatever that means. Can somebody please tell me what is wrong and what i can do?
