Unable to access folders in my external HD

Hello,

I have a Maxtor 320GB extenal hard drive in which i have installed ubuntu intrepid. I have some data on a fat 32 partitoin in the same external har drive. when i am plugging it in windows vista (of my laptop), it doesn't seem to recognize the folders in the hard drive. There is no virus in my hard disk or my laptop and i have verified this from my linux partition and also the antivirus softwares. However, when i boot my laptop from the ubuntu that i have on my hardisk, all the files are accessible. Is it a problem with windows vista? Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated....
