ok,
heres a little tool that is useful
go to this link
http://findfiles.com/list.php?string=ctupdate60.zip&size=1068742&db=Mirrors
you will see a file called ctupdate60.zip
download and install it.
when run you can set it to auto create an iso image.
what the software does is contacts the microsoft update servers and downloads any updates that you put in the criteria.
so what you can do is create an iso of updates upto the current date. next time you need to do a fresh install of xp or other microsoft o/s you can install the updates from the cd.
this will make your fresh install as upto date as the last dvd iso you made.
cuts down on the time your computer has to connect and download.
