Computer will not boot

Hello,
My computer will not boot up. Beeps once and nothing is show on my monitor. The fan seems to be running and the lights are on the front. Is this a problem with the mother board???

this is possible my computer was doing the same thing and we had to keep it on 24/7 when ever it got shut down it could take up to atleast 48 hours to reboot. finally we took it in and the problem was the mother board. the people switched it and now it works fine. this could be the same with you.
