Hello,
My Dell Inspiron 1525 fan just started making a LOUD (hear it through the whole house) noise when I turned it on and has only stopped once since then (i've stopped using it because of the noise) and that was on for a minute. The laptop still works, but I'm afraid it will eventually crash. I read up and some postings say to go to the control panel and turn down the CPU???? I can't find it/how do I do this? Please any help is appreciated. I have lots items on this laptop that I can not afford to lose.

hi there,
you need to remove the casing
that is the back cover and clean the filter and the fan with a paintbrush
and there is no data loss
or if you are nit sure how to open the laptop then use a
usb laptop cooler
Thanks
