Want to keep files but back up!!

Hello,
i have a dell notebook. i dont know anything about computers but its windows vista. there was a lot wrong with it so i got a technicia out and he fixed it but aid that i had o back it up. i really dont want to loose my files or my music and my memory pen isnt big enough to hold everything. is there anyway to back it up but still keep my files and music?

You can do 2 partition in your HDD and keep all your files on one and then format the other.

Vista has a file backup feature. If you you have a DVD RW drive and can burn the DVDs then you can backup to the DVD disk.
go to START - CONTROL PANEL - SYSTEM AND MAINTENANCE / BACK UP YOUR COMPUTER
then select your DVD RW drive as the backup device and choose the folders/files you want to backup.
