Router Trouble

Hello,

I have Time warner issued modem and in the bacc where it says ethernet, usb, and cable. in the cable port its running from i guess the cable box, the ethernet cord goes directly into my laptop which is how im speaking to you now, and the usb port isnt used @ all, i also have time warner issued router that i am being chargerd for monthly but it isnt setup, how do i connect the modem to the router? im trying to make the router run wireless, thanks for the help.

The Ethernet cable from the modem is connected to the INPUT socket in the router. (it might be marked as WAN). Then another Ethernet cable is run from a output socket (there might be 2 or 3 sockets) on the router to your PC. The first time you connect a wireless router you must connect by Ethernet cable to configure the router (for added security setup can't EVER be done on a wireless connection). The router should have written instructions and might have a CD with an automated setup program.
