does it allow you to boot up to select safe mode by pressing f8?
unplug your second moniter it will return to your computer then reset your moniter as your main moniter

To Sharpman - I get the first bootup screen, it lets me select safe mode then just before it gets to the window screen, both views go blank, the view on the television and the monitor flickers a little then goes black.
To Buggfarmer - I have unplugged the TV and nothing comes up on the computer at all apart from sounds, it is very frustrating >_<
