Not all letters type on my latop

Hello,
I have a Dell Laptop and I can only type certain letters like a for example. Other letters like t will not type but send me to another window. This problem occurs across all programs on the machie.
I noticed most of you had a problem with numbers.... not usre it would work for me... any advise? thanks so much!

Possibly, your function keys might be the source for this particular problem.
Try deactivating the functions one by one for the reason that there could have been some unwanted functions that have been activated.
Nevertheless, it could be also be keyboard shortcuts that have been activated, please disable it by getting to the Control Panel.
Yet the function key could have stuck down.
