Lost my laptop volume

Hello,
i have a laptop and no there is no volume i tried the pannell control of the volume and nothing has happen i have a windows xp is a compaq laptop i tried properties to of the volume and either well i wish you get to read this please help

hi there,

go to device manager and expand the list

to sound controller

if they are yellow marked so you will have

to install the driver by using driver cd

or give more information on pc model and series

so that can direct you to a download link

I have a gateway laptop and nothing is marked yellow. I went to control panel and to hardware and to sounds and nothing seems to be working.
