most laptops have a 'keypad' like full keyboards do but they position them under the keys u,i,o,j,k,l,m,<,> in the same shape as a full keyboard's keypad. You should be able to see those number printed smaller (below perhaps?) on the same key as the letter. To activate/deactivate it, hit numlock.

Hi,
Never used a laptop, but with normal keyboards, you have to turn "num lock" on. Then the numbers pad will work.
If it doesn't work, you can use the numbers above the letters by pressing SHIFT + NUMBER (or turn "caps lock" on).
Maybe you have some drivers or something you have ton install?
