Window system will not come up Closed

Question

Hello,
I had to clean out a computer someone gave me, and It prompt me to restart, I did and then all it will bring up the gateway icon and nothing else, its like it freezes or goes blank.  I trying to figure out if the hard drive crashed and I just need to replace it.....If someone could help me I would appreciate it.

hi there,

pleease check the molex connection cable 

of the hard drive

if its not giving a light (green led)

and any vibration then you can try using another molex

if still same issue then change the hard drive
