Hi,
When you use the save option in word in will save your work in the default location that you used while saving as..., to solve your problem you can do one of the following.
Open Microsoft Word and in the file menu you'll get something like history, that will normally list your recently open documents, if you did not work in word again you can get your document in that list and you'll be able to open it.
If you opened it from your hot mail account (i assume it's not an attachment, just a document like in the case of Google documents), then you are sure of getting it.
If you don't succeed with the two first solutions, then it's somewhere in temporary files. To locate in open this path and note that your user name should be where i have user name in the below path.
'C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Temp'
