Bluetooth GPRS problems

I have a chinese phone which I want to use to connect my laptop to the net through bluetooth. I have set the dial up connection for my phone and it is paired with my laptop, during connection, it dial up but then I cannot connect to the net.. I get a timed out message. How do I rectify this problem? Or is it just that I will not be able to do this? The reason that I want to do this is that I am paying for internet through Movistar in Spain and the phone itself seems to have problems connecting to the web... the browser on the phone comes up with lots of boxes and no text. I wonder if this could be the cause of the problem, that the phone will not act as a good modem for the internet connection?
