How to charge an ipod shuffle

Hello,
Can anyone help me immediately please,i just have my ipod shuffle(2nd gen) and dont know how to charge it,do i have to turn it on or rather off while i am charging and in witch little sign should a pull next to turn on or off button.

buy a platform (charger) plug it in when its off and wait for the light to turn green takes about 10 minutes or so
