Everything is downloading into Word

Hello,
I am having a lot of trouble with Windows 7, because everytime that I try to download a file, it defaults in saving it to Word 2007, even if it is a pdf or an excel document. How do I fix this??

You should dis-install microsoft office, update your abode reader and then re-install office to fix the problem.

I installed the newest adobe and then office 7. So, if you have any other suggestions, that would be great!
