No sound in my laptop

Hello,
my bf has windows xp..i went to control panel then sound to disable the hdmi so i can have the sound back in the laptop.after i disabled it, now it says no audio devices are installed..what do i do??

Check your sound driver laptop, If you sure have installed the sound driver, now check your volume control. or hot key in the keyboard.
