hello arun,
its just that the type of file format for windows vista and windows xp arent the same and if you have partitioned the hard disk on vista platform then xp wont recognise the hard disk and what i would advice you is to load the windows cd directly and form there format the hard dik and also partitioned it from there

First of al thank you very much for your kind reply. Actually I partitioned the disk from Disk Manager DOS based program. After partioning it is booting DOS. When I tried to install xp it is loading all files and when it comes to detect hdd to install in the hdd giving message that No HDD found. As it is a SATA hdd any modification in booting required?

I just downloaded from the link the sp3088 , the question how I put this to my faulty laptop??? I got flash usb 4GB and HDD maxtor usb , AND i tryed to change the bios order CTRL +ALT+S Igot THE MBA menu !!!is this this one ???
