The Sims3 game for PC won't install

Hello,
Hi Everyone,

I just bought The Sims3 PC for my daughter and I've already returned the first one because it wasn't installing or even reading the disk. Now what are my chances, but this one is doing the exact same thing-NOTHING!! Now I am starting to think it's MY computer... Does anyone have any suggestions?
