Sony vaio vgn-bx keyboard killer

Hello,
I walked over my owner's keyboad and a black and white message box appeared. I stepped on 'ent' and now the keyboard does not work at all. Meeow. Mistress has spent hours trying to find out how to reverse this. Pls help.

Can you get into "safe mode" and restore the PC to an earlier date/time? F8 at the start up should get you into safe mode. If it doesn't then start up and a quick power off might trigger safe mode on the next start up.
