This problem is a common problem that many users experience. The problem actually happens due to the drivers contain some errors.
The best way to have the problem solved is uninstalling all the Nokia applications and having them reinstalled again. You should make sure that the Nokia Software Updater is also installed. This should be installed on your computer together wih the Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver and the Flashing cable driver. These drivers should be installed properly otherwise you won't be able to connect it properly.
These drivers are the one which mess up to give the USB Phone Parent error. Please have these uninstalled and reinstalled for the problem to get fixed.
