Cant find my CD ROM Closed

Hello,
I have a COMPAQ M2000 laptop thats about 5 years old.  one day a couple of months ago it lost the CD-ROM/D Drive.  I have a question mark beside it in the "Device Manger".  According to the manager, all of the drivers are there but it cannot locate the hardware.  When I push the button it comes out and is spinning a CD, but my computer just cant find it.

Hi there,

You will find a screw under your laptop just below the cd drive,remove the screw with the help of a screw driver and pull the cd drive.Then start the laptop normally and then shutdown again and reseat the drive as it was before and start laptop,if still not detected then you can assume that is no longer good and need to replace with a new one.
