Ipod shuffle

Hello,
I have an ipod shuffle and i had pluged it in to a newly downloaded itunes 9, which is the latest version and when i tried to sync it, it said that i need to erase all my songs in order to sync with this itunes because it had syn with another itunes.

So i tried to download idump, this is supose to restore my songs, but then the ipod wouldnt even go on or would just keep going off and wouldnt even show on my itunes or my drive.

Please help me sync my ipod and still save my songs...its too much to loose.
