I have the same problem. I have a HP desktop with windows xp and another hardrive hooked up via usb. it was NTFS then yesterday all of a sudden in windows explorer it the size of the drive wasn't showing up and when I clicked on the drive it asked me if I want to format of course I said no as I didn't want to lose all my music files and programs and the it showing up as RAW I have no idea what caused this I had it enclosed in an external hard drive case and I thought maybe something was wrong with that but I used a different hard drive in it and it was working fine. someone mentioned trying active partition recovery for windows I don't know if it works but it's worth a shot. I hope you are able to fix your problem
