I just had to reformat my Dell Inspiron E1505. Now I have no sound. When I go to the sound tab under the control tab, the audio screen is grayed out. I went to the hardware section and there is sound hardware. I tried to go to the dell website and redownload the reccomended driver, but when I did that and tried to install, it said it did not have the supporting settings? Something like that.
Please help, been trying to resolve this all night. Called Dell and they wanted to charge me for tech support.
Try to download and install drivers for ur soundcard, but before you install the drivers you must disconnect headset or speekers from the computer ( You don't need to disconnect the speekers that are inside ur computer ).
This solution helped me once, i hope it will do the same on you ;)
