Ipod Classic 160gb won't stay connected to PC

Hello,
i have reacently bought a 160 gb Ipod classic and it refused to stay connected to the PC, so I sent it to the apple company who said it was fine, with great difficulty I managed to connect it for a while and put a bit of music on it but now the second time I have tried it just connects for a few seconds then automatically ejects itsef, please can you help me??- Thanks

I have the exact same problem so you aren't alone. I'm also getting errors saying stuff like Root Hub power surge, disconnect the device...etc from my windows taskbar. Did you have any luck?

It was the cord. All screwed up. New cord fixed it immediately. Good luck! Got mine on Amazon for dirt cheap and hasn't failed me yet. Not only cheap, but way longer, so now it'll stretch across my room.
