sound through lg tv from pcClosed

Hello,
I use my lg tv to play x box through and also use  tv monitor for pc, however when I try to play a movie from internet or any music I cannot get sound through tv. I switch tv input to RGB to get computer through monitor and can get movies playing with no sound. I have found that if I switch input to component I can get sound but no picture.  Can anyone help?

usually the sound out put is separate for computers from the video output. my lg tv has an audio input that takes a headphone jack, so I bought a cable that has that plug at both ends, put one into the headphone output on my pc, and the other into the sound output on my tv and it works great.
