Gateway Laptop Recovery with restore diskClosed

Hello,
My Gateway Laptop kept freezing up and was running slow so tried to recover from computer restore and it froze up and would not repair
Bought a restore disk online for my gateway model  BUT IT FREEZES WHEN IT GETS TO THE WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION setup, performing final tasks. We can't get past this, it gets to the final stage but freezes. Any ideas

i had the same problem when restoring my windows XP. It gets stuck with like 33min. left till completion. I restarted my Desktop and it loaded it and started installing past that part it was stuck on... so i would try a manual restart (hold the power button down till it turns off then turn it on again) worked for me!
