My screen is black, help

Hello,
my 4 year old starting pressing buttons on my compag laptop and now the screen is black when I boot up.
I have windows xp, when I boot up I can not see anything, what can I do?

My screen is black, help

Dear Sir,

Please check whether the graphic card that you are using is not damaged. Before doing it, please check whether the 15 pin cable and its power supply is working properly.
