Hello,
Day before yesterday i suddenly found that my CD/DVD drive is missing in My Computers.
With that i got to know that my system is infected and my browsers are also not working(neither IE nor Firefox).
Yesterday, i installed Firefox again and it is working fine. Then i have installed IE7 (which i hv downloaded from following link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=9AE91EBE-3385-447C-8A30-081805B2F90B&displaylang=en
When IE installation gets completed, it prompts for the System Restart. I have clossed all other running applications and Restart the system. Now, after restart it asked for the password to login into the windows. I have entered the password, it logins but on desktop it shows nothing except the background wallpaper (which was set) and a dilogue box which stated " Preaparing installtion... IE7 Stubs" (something like this) and no other activity is happening now, no start menu, no toolbar or taskbar no icons nothing. Clicking mouse buttons also didnt make any effect on the screen.
Till now i have tried to start the system in safe mode and also tried to recover the system till last configuration using F8 menu, but every time the situation is same.

It was Windows XP home edition and i have Dual Core processor with 256 RAM and 80 GB Harddisk.

I can not use Windows XP CD to recover or repair the system, as my CD/DVD drive was also not working.

Please give me some valuable solution so i can recover my system.
I can even bare my data loss if i'll got my system will work fine.(as i take a backup a few days back)

Thank in Advance!!!!!!!
